The Driving Safety course will take approximately 6 hours to complete. Texas state law requires all Driving Safety courses to have 6 hours of instruction, regardless of the number of units or chapters. This time includes both online and in-person courses.

Each page contains timers as required by the Texas state government and in accordance with Texas State law to ensure that you spend the same amount of time on this course as you would in a classroom course. You will not be able to move forward in the course until the page timer has stopped.

The 6-hour requirement covers the total instructional time and may include videos, quizzes, and reading materials.

However, the Traffic Safety Institute offers a flexible learning experience where you can start and stop the course as often as you like. There are no restrictions on how many times you can log in and out.

Our system tracks your progress, allowing you to continue from where you left off, so you can complete the course at your own pace. You can finish it all at once or spread it out over multiple sessions, whichever suits you best.
