After completing your Nevada Traffic Safety course, you'll be asked a few questions about your citation. Here's what each one means.
"I have traffic violations pending during my enrollment in this course."
This question is asking whether you have any unresolved traffic citations right now. The citation you are taking this course for counts as a pending violation, even if it is your only one.
If you have a traffic ticket that has not been fully resolved, select Yes
Most students taking this course will answer Yes
"The court is reducing or dismissing my ticket upon completion of traffic school."
This question is asking whether the court told you that your ticket would be reduced or dismissed as a result of completing this course.
If the court told you that completing traffic school would reduce or dismiss your ticket, select Yes
If you are taking the course on your own for the demerit point reduction and the court is not reducing or dismissing the underlying ticket, select No
"Is your enrollment in the course in conjunction with any type of plea agreement or a condition of sentencing?"
This question is asking whether attending traffic school is a required term of a deal you made with the court or prosecutor ā for example, "plead guilty to a reduced charge and attend traffic school." It is not asking whether you entered a plea of guilty or no contest on the ticket itself.
If traffic school was required as part of a formal plea agreement or as a condition of your sentencing, select Yes
If you simply pled guilty or no contest, paid your fine, and are choosing to take traffic school on your own to avoid points on your record, select No
Note: If you answer Yes, demerit points cannot be deleted from your record. Nevada law treats plea-agreement and sentencing-condition enrollments differently.
"I have completed a traffic safety course for credit within the past 12 month period."
This question is asking whether you have already completed another Nevada traffic safety course for demerit point credit within the last 12 months. Nevada law limits demerit point credit to one course per 12-month period.
If you have completed another course for credit within the last 12 months, select Yes
If this is your first course or your last one was more than 12 months ago, select No
"Number of traffic violations in the past 12 months"
Count all traffic violations you have received in the past 12 months, including the one you are taking this course for.
